Our Pastor – The Rev. Lydia Sohn
The Rev. Lydia Sohn is a Korean American elder within the Cal-Pac UMC Conference. She served as Associate Pastor at Church of the Good Shepherd in Arcadia, California and then, as Senior Pastor at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in San Diego, before taking a sabbatical to raise her two young kids, Hugh and Ivy.
Her husband, James Rogers, has a doctorate in Theology from the Claremont Graduate University and works as an editor. They met 14 years ago at Yale Divinity School, where they both received their Masters degrees.

Administrative Assistant – Ara Vidal
Ara Vidal joined our staff in October 2019 as our new Office Administrative Assistant. She is a recent Public Health Sciences graduate from the University of California, Irvine (Go Anteaters!). With plans to become a nurse, she is planning to pursue a Masters degree in Nursing in the near future. She loves helping others and is a very sociable, easy person to talk to. In her spare time she likes to adventure to new food places and enjoy hanging out at the arcade having a fun time with her family and friends. Welcome, Ara!
Accompanist – Grace Amador
Grace Amador was born and raised in the Philippines. She moved to America in 1999. She previously worked as a pianist, at Church of the Foothills United Methodist Church, in Duarte. She joined Walnut United Methodist Church as our pianist in April 2015.
Child Care Workers
Child care is provided for babies and toddlers during our 10AM service on Sunday and other events as needed. Our current Child Care Workers are Miss Barbara, Miss Savannah and Miss Maddie. All are CPR certified and background checked and they love caring for our little ones! And our little ones love them!
